What a great week it has been in Jasper room. We began the week with an increased interest in all forms of ramps and focused on the concepts of rolling on inclined planes. Our friends came in on Monday to discover that the classroom was filled with wooden ramps of different sizes, the children quickly scoured the room for objects to roll down the ramps, they discovered golf balls, small cars, toy people and styrofoam balls. Our friends worked as a team when creating different structures to roll their objects on, it was great to see all our friends work so cooperatively on this activity. This week we also continued our waterfall project, we enhanced the speed of the paint by diluting the paint and using spray bottles to watch it fall down the canvas. The children remarked that the paint was dripping faster and faster as we added more water to it. As the end of the week approaches, we are saying farewell to our student teacher, Margarita. We all loved having her join us and had a ton of fun learning with her these past few weeks. We are also welcoming teacher Alix back on Monday because teacher Neha will be leaving for India on the weekend. Teacher Sarah will also be leaving at the end of next week for Ontario and we will be welcoming teachers Sue, Kerry, and Alix to come join us in Jasper Room. Teacher Sarah and Neha will both be back in the new year so we would like to wish all our friends and their families, Happy Holidays and a very happy New Years. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
