What is a provocation? A provocation is something that provokes, intrigues, and allows us, as educators to really figure out what the children are interested in and gives the children an “invitation to play”. Some provocations that were setup this week involved messy play, dinosaur play, and a race car track. They were really interested in the messy play experience as it allows them to truly live in the moment, and creates a very contagious play that everyone is apart of! We also started exploring going on walks around the senior building and into our community. This is a whole new experience – we love the beginning process of gaining autonomy, being chased, going up stairs, seeing all the pets in the community! The cat we saw was very friendly!
We also were super lucky that it’s September and Music with Dawn started again. Lots of friends were new to this experience but were super excited to shake shakers, learn new songs, and show off their dance moves.
Next week we have Mary, a new shale educator starting. Please welcome her into the wonderful supportive community we have created. We cant wait to get to know her, and play with her !
Have a wonderful weekend!
