This week we have really started to establish more routines and figure out what the out of school care schedule look likes and feels like. This lead to some new exciting classroom changes – creating a space for rough and tumble play and eliminating a table. Rough and tumble play is a huge component of many classrooms and often is seen as wrestling, running, tumbling, and jumping. This is a way for children to get rid of excessive energy, have fun with their friends, and get to know more about their body and abilities. It has a very playful purpose and the children really enjoy it! They also used our comfy pillows as body bags! Lastly, a huge project that many of the children were involved in was creating a zip line made with BRAND new pipe cleaners! Who knew that they would be sturdy enough? Who knew that they would think of this project all on their own? Sometimes all you need is open ended materials, playful imaginations and endless possibilities. This creates rich and spontaneous moments! Tell us about your spontaneous moments on Monday. Have a great weekend!
