Sandstone is on the move again! We have been going to the park and exploring different kinds of equipment that we were at first a little nervous to try. We climbed the big rock and jumped off onto the sand. Petra and Estella seemed to be having so much fun doing this together because they played until it was time to leave! Some of the other children joined in the fun and the game became, Queen/King of the Castle, the song echoed throughout the play-ground by the boys and girls as they stood up with arms stretched high in the air. They took turns jumping and climbing, which was fantastic to observe. Evan could not get up on the rock, but he kept on trying. He watched all his friends pass by him, and then he made a final attempt. “I did it, I did it!”. He exclaimed proudly with a wide smile.
Let’s go on a picnic! While this week may have been too hot (or cold) for a picnic, our Sandstone friends decided to bring the fun indoors! Using the different bags available in our dramatic area, the children packed our play food and utensils and “travelled” to the quiet cube where they stretched out on pillows and blankets and enjoyed their meal! Perhaps we can have a picnic with real food while the weather is still lovely!
It has been a wonderful week indoors and out, and we can’t wait for next week! Have a fantastic weekend, and we’ll see you on Monday!
