Sandstone room has been filled with adventure this week. We started off Monday with water balloon bowling with the seniors at Ottewell Lodge. What a fun activity this was! They had a huge bucket of water balloons and a ramp with pins set up and ready to go for us. We took turns throwing the water balloons at the pins with the seniors. The children had to work together with the seniors to try and knock all the pins down. After we were finished with that we decided to have a water balloon fight. A few of the seniors even joined in throwing water balloons and getting wet.

Tuesday we were off to Ottewell Manor to have story time with the seniors. We took a couple of our favourite books; ‘Don’t Push The Button’ and ‘The Three Little Bears’, and sang our favourite song; ‘Jumping on the Inside’. The children have developed strong relationships the seniors especially Betty. She even will come over to Primrose early to help us get ready and walk over to the Manor.

On Wednesday we had a water park day at Ottewell Park. The children enjoyed running through the water and splashing around. A few spent time digging in the sand. After 30 minutes of play we headed back to Primrose. At the end of the week we took some time investigating water flow outside with Jasper. A system of ramps and funnels was set up along the fence with water flowing through it. The children were able to fill up buckets and cups to transport water around the play yard. A few set up obstacles within the ramps to see how that impacts the flow of the water.

With Jessica being away on holiday’s this week we have enjoyed Sue and Emily’s company in our room. Jessica will be back on Tuesday. Have a great weekend.
