With all the wonderful weather we are experiencing this past week, our Jasper friends have been spending a lot more time outdoors. We started the week off by welcoming back Theo from his very exciting trip to Hawaii. We got to hear all about how he roamed underwater in a submarine which led to him discovering a sunken ship and was lucky enough to see some reef sharks along the way. On Tuesday the children decided to take a walk around the neighbourhood, as we were walking some children froze at a dense set of hedges, they exclaimed with delight they had found a ladybug, soon the rest of our Jasper friends were scattered around the hedges trying to scope out if there were any more to be found and sure enough within a few minutes the children had found many more. The rest of our walk was filled with discussions regarding where ladybugs live, what they eat and why they can only be found when the snow melts. On Wednesday, a surprise change awaited our friends in the morning, with the temperature rising, we decided that we would move our entire Jasper room into our yard, this included the breakfast table, the children were full of excitement when they realized that we would be spending the entire morning outside. Some of our friends got busy playing a game of chess/checkers while others dressed up as princesses and warriors and imagined themselves to be in a magical realm.
This week we also welcomed our new Jasper friends, Sam and Owen to our room, we are so excited to have them start their transition from Sandstone into Jasper in the coming weeks, we look forward to watching them grow in our room. Lastly we would like to remind all our friends that with the UV on the rise, that sun hats should be brought in so that our friends may stay safe and enjoy playing in the sun. We hope you all have a great weekend! See you all on Monday.
