Welcome to Fall everyone, this week in Shale we welcomed fall by making cookies. This was a very new and enjoyable experience for the children. We have made some documentation on the outside of our door for all the parents to look at. We have been exploring nature and the changing season outside by walking around the neighbourhood. We brought the nature inside and explored leafs in the water table; we loved the way they crunch in our hands. We extended this play by adding magnifying glasses to get a closer look at the change in the leafs. We also set up a paint experience where the children can mix colours of paint in a bag, this helps with their fine motor development. We have been exploring water a lot and the concepts of what sinks and floats in our water table. This week we also used recycled materials to make our own guitars. We used tissue boxes and elastic bands. We are still very interested in the sounds our bodies and other materials can make when we manipulate them.
A reminder for all parents we can always use extra plastic bags for dirty diapers. If you have any at home that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
