Shale has been busy continuing to explore movement. We have enjoyed playing outside in the snow, running around and exploring snow angels and climbing up the fort. One by one our friends enjoyed pushing their bodies up the wall and focusing on their feet making sure they were firmly planted on the blocks. This week we also had the pleasure to take some of our friends to the seniors building for story time! Shale loved it! We had the seniors read us our favorite stories Pete the cat and we sang “twinkle twinkle little star”, “baa baa black sheep” and our new favorite song “The more we get together” we have worked so hard to learn the signs to our song.
“The more we get together, together, together. The more we get together the happier we will be! Because your friends are my friends and my friends are your friends, the more we get together the happier we will be!
We also explored ice balls in the water table with animals hidden, we constructed a surprise for our silver tree in our room! We have continued to explore ramps hanging from the tables where we roll balls down and explore the movement of the ball gliding across the floors. This week we said goodbye to one of our friends as she takes a year off to spend quality time with her new sister! Shale will miss you Petra. We have also enjoyed exploring being at the dentist with our babies as we read books all about our teeth and brushing the babies’ teeth! We were so excited when Jasper room allowed us to borrow their LIGHT TABLE! Wow the children were SO excited as we explored the X-RAYS with magnifying glasses and constructed the body by moving the hands and legs.
We also loved exploring the process of going in and out boxes and exploring all the possibilities with boxes! We also enjoyed painting the mail box with our Grant MacEwan student Kaitlyn! We even worked on letters to add to the mail box, what an exciting week shale had! Have a wonderful weekend!
