Change is constant, but that does not always make it easy.
There has been a lot of change in the Quartz room this week; from Cassi moving to Shale room, welcoming and saying good bye to Roberta as she moved to Sandstone, and welcoming Kerry into Quartz. Also having Kara, a grant MacEwan student join us for the next three weeks.
This week has been a week of exploring what makes up, and who we are as individuals (and a group) in Quartz Room.
With lots of sensory activities – melting ice cubes with salt and attaching strings, painting rocks, scooping and pouring sand into funnels, and modelling clay with our hands.
On Tuesday, a group of children went into the back play space on the hunt for birds, watching them fly and thinking about they eat.
Thursday a group of children went into the back alley to jump on and crack frozen puddles! What fun that was! We also enjoyed afternoon snack with all of Primrose and the seniors.
Quartz has been showing a great interest in dramatic play with our babies, washing, drying, dressing and changing diapers. Next week, we will be expanding our dramatic play area into a grocery store, with different boxes to purchase and serve food to our babies.
Have a fantastic weekend! We can’t wait to explore and discover on Monday !
