We have (unofficially) welcomed Declan, Elliot Neve and Zoe to Quartz room this week! We are very excited to have them fully join our class March first, as we say goodbye to Audrey, Allysieh, Cybil and Kane as they move on to Sandstone.
With our idea of lights and shadows still booming, we have started to explore flashlights and glow sticks. Flashlights shining through coloured blocks to see the patterns on the table and glow sticks in the magnet tiles that everyone is fond of.
A huge experience that everyone took part in was smashing ice cubes with hammers! Mason, Angus and Aideen took turns sharing the hammers, hitting the ice and talking to each other as they did it. It was a great way to build our language and social skills together! We will expand this experience next week with different styles of ice to smash.
Cassi rebuilt the hammock on the table – what a great cozy place to escape and read stories.
Outside, we set up a balance beam, practiced walking across the beams and jumping high into the sky to get off!
Next week look forward to bringing the projector into an experience, talking about fireflies and swatting them with fly swatters!
Have a wonderful sunny weekend!
