This week in Jasper room, we were all excited to welcome teacher Sarah back! We started the week with a very exciting look into the world of virtual reality, teacher Sarah brought in her “Google Glasses” which showcased different environments around the world in a 3D form. The children explored the African Savanna, underwater shark infested waters and the streets of New York City. This was followed by a 3 day visit with our neighbours, on Tuesday some of our friends went to the Manor to read and sing some songs, on Wednesday we all went and cooked mini English muffin pizzas where we were joined by Irene and Marlene. It was great to see a constant flow of conversation between the children and the two ladies. Our friends learned that Irene has 22 grandchildren and that Marlene used to be a teacher. Towards the end of the week we once again made our way to the Manor to create some artwork with the seniors. The children worked together with our friends to trace their hands and draw self portraits. This was followed by some intense games of X’s and O’s. We ended our week with “Go Noodle” where the children moved to the beat and calmed their bodies to some soothing yoga poses. This was then followed by several games of musical chairs where we sang along to the songs and used spatial awareness skills to snag a seat when the music stopped. Overall it was a busy week and we hope you have a great weekend. See you all on Monday!
