Quartz room friends have welcomed fall in our classroom this week! Outside has been the place to be for our quartz room class we; have explored leaves, by making piles, throwing and jumping in them. Watching a truck lift shingles right up on the roof of a building This past Friday we went on a nature walk to see the changing leaves and a construction sight.
Our friends have focused on an interest of trains, firetrucks and cars this week. We have used the tire track from our vehicles to make paint tracks and compare the differences. Using our dump trucks and scoops, we have filled our trucks outside with leaves and sticks, dumped them in a different location and filled them up again.
Our water table has been an ocean filled with boats and scoops and buckets. Quartz room has explored painting with tea bags, the colours, scents, texture and occasional taste of the tea has been a big hit with all of the children.
The block centre of our classroom has been filled with train tracks and ball tracks, we have worked together to pushing the pieces of our tracks together and problem solving when they don’t fit.
Next week we plan to turn our dramatic play area and block centre into a road for our vehicles and making our own out of cardboard boxes!
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!
