There were a lot of transitions this past week in Jasper Room, with teacher Neha away on a trip to Vancouver, we had the pleasure of having teacher Sue in our classroom at the start of the week. On Monday we created a special surprise for our very special moms, our Jasper friends are so excited to share this treasure trove with you in order to celebrate Mother’s Day this coming weekend. On Tuesday, teacher Sue presented the children with a spring rock garden provocation, the children were so excited to explore the contents that they asked for the same provocation the next day as well.
With the weather getting warmer, our friends have also been taking advantage of our outdoor space, from playing sports such as soccer and baseball to running through challenging obstacle courses. On Wednesday, our friends got to enjoy a water balloon fight, this will be the first of many more to come, we would therefore like to remind you to bring in your splash clothes; bathing suits, towels, waterproof footwear. Also on Wednesday we welcomed back teacher Neha, we got to hear all about her trip and got to learn about the giant trees in Stanley Park, she was however unable to bring us back any giant leaves due to her height restrictions (climbing the trees was a hard task to accomplish).
It was a rainy day Thursday so our friends remained indoors and had a discussion which led to the creation of our cozy corner just outside our room as a special treat for our moms and dads. We are going to end the week off with some experimentation on ramps using golf balls and different types of instruments. This allows the children to use their deductive reasoning skills in order to solve a problem. Lastly we wish all the mother figures in all our lives, a great Mother’s Day!!! Have a great weekend everyone!! See you all on Monday!!
