Dear Primrose Community,

 

Primrose Place Family Centre will relocate to the former St. Bernard School at 7211 96 A Ave NW this Labour Day weekend August 28 to September 2, 2014. Your help will be needed to clean, paint and build a fence among other things as we prepare our new location.

 

This is a temporary relocation. We will move again in 2015 when construction is complete for our permanent location at Ottewell Place, 6207 92 Ave NW next year.

 

St. Brendan School closes this September 2014. We have worked with the Edmonton Catholic School Board to secure a new location in order to provide Primrose Place families with continued childcare. The new facility has 32 on-site parking stalls immediately adjacent to the door, a secure outdoors play area attached to the property, main floor access, and is only a few blocks away from our current location.

 

Due to the limited space in the new facility, Primrose must reduce its current capacity from four classrooms to three. We will go from 70 children to 58. To allow for this downsizing, Primrose will not take any new children in September when the current children graduate to Kindergarten. By transitioning in September, Primrose will be able to decrease its enrollment without having to impact the children and families that are currently attending the centre.

 

Your help is needed to complete some upgrades to the new facility. For the most part, professional contractors will conduct these upgrades. However, there is some work that we you’re your help with as well.

 

We have scheduled two working days on Saturday July 26^th and Saturday August 9^th (9:00 am -4:00 pm)^, when we will clean, paint, and build a fence. On each working day Primrose will provide lunch as well as activities for children (away from the working area) to play while parents prepare the new location. Please join us on these days.

 

If you have specific skills that can be used when preparing the new location, or if you have connections with people that can provide support for preparing the new location please let the office know. In particular we are looking for:

1. Painters
2. Electrical work
3. Plumbing
4. Fence builders
5. Inside cleaning
6. Out side yard work
