Ho! Ho! Ho! Happy Holidays! We have been very jolly and festive in Jasper Room this week! We read a few new books about the holidays, one new book we read was called “Santa is coming to Edmonton”, and the book mentioned how Santa was reading the letters to him from the children from Edmonton. This gave us all a great idea, why don’t we write a class letter to Santa? That’s exactly what we did, we are just waiting for his reply… it is so exciting J everyone in Jasper was so generous to Santa in the letter, most of the children wanted to give him some of their toys rather than get toys. We will post up our letter and Santa’s reply for all of you to see! We also have been practicing our wrapping skills, we get to open our gifts to ourselves at our party today. We have still been focusing on outer space in the room; we have turned our attention on the planets that make up our solar system. So far with our paper mache planets we have made Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus! They are slowly starting to hang from our roof. You may have also noticed in the back of the room a couple of questions posted on the wall, the teachers were talking one day and we asked each other how can we discuss space with the children when they as a group might not understand some of the words or definitions that go along with the topic? So we posted questions in the back of the room about space and we are discussing them during morning meeting, the first question we asked the children was what do you think orbit means? Go take a look at some of the answers! We hope you have the most Wonderful Holidays and the Merriest Christmas!
