This week in shale we have explored so many new things! We explored new parts of the building this week as some of our friends walked over to the manor and sang songs and read “PETE THE CAT, FOUR GROOVY BUTTONS!” with the seniors! Some of our friends went over for a walk to the lodge where we visited, said hello to our senior friends and said hello too peekaboo the bird! It was a joyful visit of exploration of walking. Stay tuned as we continue to make weekly visits to explore and play with the seniors and on the 18th of November, some of our friends will explore cooking cookies with the seniors! Shale has seemed to really enjoy singing our song “SLIPPERY FISH” and learning all the actions. Here is the song for you that you may hear your child singing at home!

My friends worked really hard on ripping the paper for our paper mache volcano and then creating the volcano with glue and water! We were so focused and engaged as we dipped the paper into the solution and stuck it on the water table. This week we enjoyed playing with goop in the water squishing and feeling the soft slippery texture, we watched as it melted away in our hands and dripped down back into the water table. Shale also enjoyed watching the snow falling from our window and then playing with cotton balls in the sand table as we mixed the snow around! This week we brought the gym to our room we enjoyed rowing on the boat and climbing on the climber and sliding down the slide! WHOA! WATCH ME GO. The children loved this gross motor experience when it was a little cold outside for our friends. Check out Shales family wall! There is a new picture of all the friends in our room. A kind reminder if you could bring in a family photo and something your child enjoys to do or play with at home that would be greatly appreciated that way we can add your family to our family wall! J With the weather changing again we ask if you could bring in warmer clothing for your child to wear, we love playing outside in the play space and if we are dressed warm we can enjoy the cool fresh air while we run and play.
