What an exiting week it’s been in Sandstone! We have continued our exploration in cause and effect in our art work. We played with puff paint and boy what a great fun mess it was. There were colours to mix up and whip around. What happened when it dried? Well it hardened and we could add loose parts to it with some glue. This week we have been discovering all we can about the pine-cones in our water table. To learn more about the pine-cone we used our five senses to explore all that we could. We looked at the pine-cones, they had lots of different layers. Shaking the pine-cones we could not hear any rattling. Taking a deep breath in it smelled like trees! Picking up the pine-cones we rolled them around in our hands, they were kind of prickly. We even tasted what the pine-cones tasted like… not like syrup. Which is made from the sticky part of the tree called sap. Friday was our Pajama day, we had a great time talking about what was on our pajamas. We made a reading fort and crawled in and out under the hanging door. We sang many versions of the song Sleeping Bunny and read a few books about bears going to bed. Lastly, we did some yoga Friday morning and the children were really engaged and we had full participation! Some of our Sandstone Teachers are attending the national child care conference and we cant wait to bring all our learning back!
Have an awesome awesome weekend!
