This week we explored puff paint (made from shaving cream and paint). Most of us used large brushes, but some of us used our hands. The sensation of moving the puffy paint on aluminum foil made us giggle and smile.
We had a very interesting experience when we opened up our sand box and had a bucket of water set right in the middle of it. We used small pitchers to dump water into the sandbox and then enjoyed mixing the sand into the bucket of water. Wet sand stuck to our skin and clothes, but we didn’t seem to mind!
One day, we set up a restaurant play space, with a “Reserved” table, featuring our new plastic food. So many new word opportunities… we have everything from grapes to pizza, and a few of us can quickly identify the “anana” and “apple”.
Today in music, we joined Dawn with shakers, which helped us continue our exploration of sound and rhythm. Although we only see Dawn once every two weeks, the children are always very intrigued and rarely play shy.
We want to congratulate two of our children who began walking this week. What an exciting developmental milestone! We showed off our newly achieved bipedalism in Sandstone and Jasper. For some of those children, it brought back memories of when they were “babies” in Shale, years ago.
Just a reminder for the parents that on Fridays, we ask that you take home blankets to wash. Thanks so much! Have a great weekend!
