This week in Shale we have been busy bees continuing to explore different sounds and movement of sound in our room, outdoors and all around us. The children have started to notice that we can make sound big and small, loud and quiet with our bodies by moving, speaking, and laughing in different ways. We continue to explore shaker bottles, making music with the tambourine and exploring singing our songs. The children have started to participate more with different actions for our daily songs like wheels on the bus, twinkle twinkle little star, and if your happy and you know it. We have also watched the children drop every thing they are doing when we do the “sleep song” the children pretend to fall asleep as we sing the goodnight song. This week we have enjoyed going on our community walks exploring the leaves on the trees starting to change, all of the birds flying in the sky and the cool fall weather approaching us. Shale has seemed to really enjoy coloring with chalk outdoors and coloring on paper with crayons inside. On Tuesday we explored painting with the color black on a big piece of paper with our friends on the table, the paint brushes felt interesting as they stroked the paper and our bodies what a great experience. We also explored the wonders of shaving cream and blue paint in our water table; it was a surprise to see our animals hiding beneath the shaving cream! HOW FUN! This week Shale said bye to four of our friends as we wished them love and lots of hugs as they moved on to Quartz room! Shale is excited to gain seven more friends as we continue on with the month of September! We are so excited to get to know the children and all of the personality and qualities they will bring to our unit as a family in shale! Friday we get to enjoy icecream for a yummy afternoon snack, we are so excited for the delicious treat to enter our tummies! YUM YUM!
