Summer Time Fun in Shale
Wow its Friday already?! We had a very exciting and busy week in Shale. We welcomed Young back from holiday; she was missed by everyone. We are also starting the transition of Sarah leaving Shale room and going into the role of Out of School Care Team Lead. We are sad to see her go but very happy for her new opportunity in the Primrose family. Way to go Sarah!
The room was all a buzz this week with community walks, water splashing, bubble chasing and sponge painting and lots of screaming laughter. With the weather being so nice, we have been using it to our advantage to go explore our community in a walk to the mailbox. Vera helped Cassi mail some letters, while others collected dandelion flowers with Emily. Too cool down from the heat we splash in the water table. We drop bowls in to create small splashes but our hands make the biggest splashes and ensure that we get a cool shock of water on our face.
A small group visited the seniors on Thursday for some art fun and story time. We continued our sponge painting project. Earlier in the week we did a base layer of shades of purple and grey. With the help of James and Maureen we added a new layer of blue while at the Manor. Maybe a layer of green will be next?
To end our fun week on funny laughing note, we used our fan to help blow bubbles all around the room. Eleanor and Vera were screaming with laughter while running around the room trying to pop all the bubbles, while Addilynn and Ronan would wait for the fan to blow the bubbles to them but the bubbles were a massive hit with everyone including the educators who enjoyed seeing and hearing the happy squeals from the children while being surrounded by bubbles.
Cassi is going on holidays and Vi will be in the classroom while she is away. Welcome Vi!
Have a great weekend!
