It was another exciting week in Sandstone! We are on “Mail Watch” because on Wednesday some of our friends and teachers walked to the mail box to drop the letters that our Sandstone friends wrote to their parents! We were very eager as we put our letters in one by one and checked the slot to make sure it had gone in. So Parents, please expect a special letter arriving at your home in a couple of days!
Despite the yo-yo weather that we’ve been having, we were able to utilize the good days that were not too hot or cold to journey to and explore several parks! There were so many attractions and the climbing equipment was definitely a favorite. The children climbed up and down, some pretending that they were climbing a great mountain and using the rope to pull up their bodies to the summit. We saw the children exercise abundant strength as they used their muscles with excitement and laughter. And children who were not very confident climbers, tried anyway and were astonished when they too were able to master the climb!
We also performed an intriguing science experiment where we inflated balloons using baking soda and vinegar! The children screamed with excitement as they watched the balloons being inflated by just placing it over the mouth of the water bottle as the reaction between the two compounds fizzled! Hmmm…. “How did that happen?” Some children wondered. Inara suggested that we do it again! Aideen wanted to take one of the balloons home, and her mom Jackie who was just as thrilled to watch the experiment, decided to try it at home too! I wonder what experiment we should try next? Stay tuned!
Have a great weekend, and we’ll see you on Monday!!!
