Boo! Dress up is something many Sandstones friends love to do, so Halloween was a perfect opportunity to do dress up as our favourite characters or animals or even super heros! We went on a parade to show off our awesome costumes to our senior friends at Ottewell Manor, Ottewell Terrace and Ottewell Lodge. We waved and said “Happy Halloween” so much that our hands were tired afterwards. In the classroom we sang Halloween songs, read Halloween stories, and even had a spooky Halloween dance party! We had so much fun. After Halloween was over we came back to Sandstone room and put the focus back on building.
We read a book called “Not A Box” by Antoinette Portis, which is about a bunny pretending the box was a bunch of different things, we thought it was very funny. Then Jessica brought in two HUGE boxes and set them up outside in the yard with chairs inside. Our Sandstone friends, along with our Jasper friends, were soaring through the sky, racing through the streets, gliding down the river, and blasting off into space. With their imaginations blooming, the box was not a box anymore and anything was possible.
We ended our week with music with Dawn, I think this is our favourite time of the week. We added something new to our hello song this week. We learned how to say ‘hello’ and ‘everyone’ in the French language. We also sang songs about animals and moved our bodies in different ways in order to be elephants, snakes, monkeys, and cats. Have a fantastic weekend, we will see everyone on Monday.
