What a great week we have had in Sandstone! This week we moved onto another part of our inquiry into movement on an incline. We tested out different substances on different surfaces. We tried glue on tin foil, this was difficult as the glue was very thick and slow to come off our q-tips. So we concluded that the glue moved to slow to make a big impact on the ramps. We tried painting with golf balls in a bin. We shook the bin from side to side, watching the paint make tracks along the paper. If we wanted it to go fast we lifted up one end and watched as the balls zoomed to the opposite side. Even though some of our afternoons have been filled with rain we have made the most of the mornings by being outside as much as possible. In the play yard we took to watering the areas around us. We used watering cans and any other container we could find to help the tree grow, the grass grow, and we even poured water onto each other to see if we could grow too! We went out to the splash park this week and spent a lot of time in the big sand pit there; mixing the water in with the sand to make pies, soup and cake to eat. As we are half way through the summer just a reminder that everyday your child needs a pair of outdoor shoes and a hat. We do provide water thoughout the day! Wishing all our families a wonderful long weekend and Erin and Jess will see you on Tuesday.
