What a busy week we have had in Sandstone! We started the week off by exploring movement of liquids again. This time we used a different medium on the ramps. Instead of the water resistant wax paper we used the absorbent watercolor paper. With this absorbent paper we could watch the different pathways the water traveled along. A similarity that both had however was if you only drop a few drops of water down then they don’t move, but it if you let a lot of water go then it runs down the ramp at full speed. We put some ramps out in the block area to see what the children would do. Instead of exploring incline movement they were brought into the play of ghost busting. We have listened to the song of Ghostbusters then sang it around the room. Forts have been build to protect us and we have taken shelter under tables, in the quiet cube and behind the couch. In this play we have been learning compassion for others and how to help “save” our friends. We have all been working in a team to fight the ghosts together. We have had Emily and Sue in our room the past week as Erin has been on vacation. A big thank you to their support in the classroom. We look forward to Erin’s return next week. Have a happy weekend and see you Monday!
