This week in sandstone has been a very active one. We started the week off by colouring under a canopy, the children really enjoyed this exerience so we continued on with this idea and flipped the table over to create a larger canopy which we could play under. Our practicum student, Caylen; has been developing this idea as well. Recently she started talking about animal dens with the children. Caylen brought in materials, such as playdough, Popsicle sticks, cardboard boxes, and glue for the children to create their idea of what a den could look like. Later on in the week we added in a new cozy quiet area. This area soon turned into a bear cave, this has created lots of imaginative animal play. Even though we have been discussing dens and caves we are still working on our big idea of movement. In the art area we explored tinfoil ramp painting, it was interesting to watch the beads of paint roll down. At the end of the week we were able to take a couple trips to the park. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!!!!
