This week in Quartz room, we did a few extensions on some budding interests that we have noticed over the past weeks. For example, last week and this Monday, we have been interested in cooking while in the water table; particularly waffles! This led to us having waffle Tuesday for afternoon snack along with our yogurt. It was delicious! And the room never smelled so amazing!!! The vanilla made the room feel homey and inviting.
Along with the best edible experience ever, we also enjoyed getting our hands into some interesting textures. Bekah brought in some whole wheat flour to make a different textured play dough than what we are used to. It was not too tacky, molded nicely, and then we added cookie cutters to make it feel like we were baking cookies! Such fun!
In the water table and sensory bin, we made water beads. This little material has been a great interest for us for a while as it has a relaxing and enticing sensory feel to it. We froze some in gloves to explore the beads in a different state.
Planes, trains and automobiles! Well mostly trains, actually. We brought in the train table from Shale room for a day and a half, and now we all want to chug chug along with these little engines and cabooses. We are really intrigued with the construction and deconstruction of the tracks, and making them go in different directions.
Next week we are hoping to explore hair dryer painting! It will be a noisy but fun experience
Have an amazing weekend!
