This week in Quartz we have broadened an understanding of building and stacking through the exploration of bridges. We had a very long walk to Clara Tyner school and played in the park. There were many bridges to look at and examine. One was straight, one dipped down, there was a wiggly one and a bumpy one. One was a made of ropes, and another of tires. So many different terrains to explore! Some of us went for it right away, and some took our time to explore. All in all we had so much fun! We also built with shaving foam and foam blocks, ice stacking, as well as Velcro blocks.
Along with building and stacking, we have expanded our grocery store with the one thing that makes the world turn; money! (Not real money though). It was noticed outside in the playspace a small understanding of currency, so we decided to add it to the cash register.
We have also done lots of sand play with buckets, flower pots, shovels, scoops and natural materials.
Enjoy the lovely weather this weekend! We look forward to continuing our exploration of our building interests!
