We’ve had a lot to celebrate in Jasper room this week. We have been keeping up with Neha’s amazing adventure in Phuket Thailand through photographs, videos and a calendar to count down the days! She has seen many things so far and the Jasper friends are in constant discussion about the tigers, crabs and beaches she has seen and in constant wonder about what else she will see on her travels. While Neha is away, Alix has been filling in for her. Everyone is so excited to welcome her back and have been busy sharing all their exciting stories from while she was away. We also welcomed our MacEwan student Margarita back. She will be with us for the next four weeks engaging and providing exciting experiences in the Jasper program!
Within our program, we have been discussing actions! The actions we have been focusing on this week are dumping and pouring. We have discussed and participated in jobs that involve dumping and pouring such as a dump truck driver and a chef, we are learning the concept of gravity as well as cause and effect through our two-tiered water table and sand table. We have also been exploring balance and amounts through weigh scales and teeter totters of all sizes and materials! In the next week, we will be continuing our dumping and pouring exploration as well as add the actions of sliding and rolling!
Finally this Friday we got to celebrate National Child Day! Everyone jn the center dawned the colour blue and helped celebrate our children’s right to learn and play! Jen, Lana, Whitney and Kerry did an amazing job setting up a fantastic Pete the Cat investigation that our Jasper friends really enjoyed and Margarita set up a beautiful tea party to help celebrate as well!
If you have any extra plastic bags please bring them in as Sandstone and Jasper are low on supply. Thanks!
