This week in Jasper room, our friends were excited to learn all about robots. We started the week off with wrapping blocks in tin foil and building giant robots. The children had a blast so we decided to keep expanding the topic by exploring the idea of why robots are different than us. Our friends decided to make a chart to answer this question, our friends came up with things such as “robots are made of soundwaves and we have voices,” “robots are made of metal parts and we are made of love”. This discussion got the children so excited that they decided that they would like to build a robot themselves, so teacher Sarah went and got all the supplies and tools to build our very own robot!! The children helped to build the robot by using a drill with teacher Sarah’s help, they were very excited when the robot was completed, there were many laughs as we turned it on and watched excitedly as the robot began to move around drawing on its own. We have also continued to go on our daily neighbourhood walks which have sparked lots of discussion regarding Halloween with all the spooky decorated houses in our neighbourhood. On Wednesday, we also had the opportunity to take some friends to our neighbours to have a cooking lesson with them, the children had a wonderful time creating special marshmallow treats with our new friends the seniors. Lastly as the days get colder, we would like to remind our friends to dress warm by making sure to bring in your coats, hats and mittens. We are looking forward to seeing you all next week, have a wonderful weekend!
