This month we kicked of with utilizing the program outdoors. We went to Kenilworth Community League Park on one of the hottest days of the week! It was beautiful out, but surprisingly we were the only people at the park! This allowed for the children to explore every aspect of the park! Finn, and Arthur and a few others were spending most of their time at the sand and water mixing station, they love to scoop and pour out the heavy wet sand into different tunnels and moats. Reid, Kane, Sam and Cohen love to test their limits climbing up and down the different structures at the park. One new thing we talked about was making sure we call down/up the slide “all clear” before we climb up or slide down, that way we can ensure safety of everyone! Molly and Harriet love to spin around on the tire swing, they have mastered the skill of getting up all on their own. Of course, when the children get too hot from playing everyone takes a walk through the water to cool off. Orla is the ‘dasher’ she loves to go through the water as fast as she can!
In addition to the park, we have been enjoying our new structures in the play yard. One day this week we took our lunch outside and ate under the tree and on the stumps. Not only was it fun to have picnic, but we had to try and balance our plates on our laps. That was a bit difficult and resulted in a few of our cucumbers landing in the dirt
WOW! What a busy first week in June! I can’t wait to see what adventures we will have next week! We wish you a happy weekend and hopefully will see you on Saturday for our 50th BBQ.
