Welcome back Jasper friends, we hope you all had a wonderful long weekend. This week we welcomed Kerry to our room due to Teacher Sarah being sick all week long. We wish her a speedy recovery and are excited to see her on Monday. This week in Jasper room, we continued our focus on the topic of movement. Our experiences included the use of inclined spaces to roll, push and pull different objects. We started of with a fast-paced car race for the piston cup which was inspired by viewing the Grey Cup which was brought in by Callie’s Dad in Quartz room on Tuesday. After the race, we gathered all our friends and conducted a trial and error experiment centered on centripetal force, we created a pendulum painting, to which the kids exclaimed that the finished product looked like planets and stars. On Wednesday, we added different colored layers to our painting to learn about color mixing properties. Our outdoor experiences were just as fun as our indoor ones, with a focus on playing countless soccer games as well as making the snow colorful through the use of spray bottles and paint. On Thursday, the snow was the perfect consistency so some of our friends began to build a snow castle with teacher Neha. We ended the week of by singing beautifully at Music with Dawn, as well as getting our energy out by using paint and mallets to create a unique art piece. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend! See you all on Monday.
