This week in Shale Room, we were able to meet our new friend, Cybil, who will be joining us in August! We are very excited to have you here in Shale Room with us, Cybil! We have continued our exploration of the outdoors and nature and are still finding so much to learn. Painting has always been an exciting experience for us, so this week we decided to find out what would happen if we painted with pinecones instead of brushes. We used blue, yellow, and orange paint and were able to save some of our paintings for the wall! We have also added a nature table to Shale Room! This is an area where the children can further their discovery and exploration of nature in an environment that they are comfortable in. One of the most exciting things we have used at the nature table is magnifying glasses. When we look through the magnifying glasses at different leaves, pinecones, and sticks, they look so BIG! We are becoming scientists as learn about nature, just as Jean Piaget once quoted, “Children are all like little scientists.”
