This week in Sandstone we have been experimenting with different colours and textures. We have continued with our investigation of colour and have heard the children discussion how to mix different colours to create another colour. The children have also been utilizing some of the library books that we have provided; the most popular book has been “Mouse Paint” by Ellen Stoll Walsh to confirm their theories and discussions about colour. Later this week the children had the opportunity to help create “Goop,” it was such an interesting texture for the children. They commented that the Goop was soft and hard at the same time! The children watched as we added blue food colouring to the Goop, it splashed and slowly began to spread. We were excited to see how the children interacted with the Goop as this type of sensory experience is not always popular.
We have attached a notice about our “Colour days” to each of the children’s lockers. Which will start on August 11 (Monday) it will be “Red Day.”
