Lots of exciting changes in Sandstone this week, we have rearranged the room! We decided to make more defined spaces within the room and since then, we have noticed the children have been utilizing the materials in the room a lot differently. They seem to be more interested in the house corner area and the sand table is always a favourite. We also have been adding lots of different materials to the art area; we really want the children to feel like the area is at their disposal and that we supply them will all the necessary materials to encourage their creativity. We also learned a new song! It is called “My Brothers a Monster!” You can find this song on youtube and it’s a very interactive song for the children. They get to march around the room and growl/ roar like a monster and twist their pointy ears! We listen to this song on repeat for most of the afternoon and we all march around the room together, it is a lot of fun! We are still focused on the idea of building, but we have zoned in on building towers and houses. We are in the works of starting to create our own blue prints and are hoping to start creating our own towers out of clay so we can paint them!
