This week in Sandstone we looked at colours….. How they change or transform, how more than one object can be different colours, how colours mix with oil, water etc… We added coloured jars to science, we added coloured feathers, coloured blocks, colored sticks…… COLOUR, COLOUR, COLOUR EVERYWHERE.
We looked very closely at how colour and science can be brought together to make fun and interesting art projects. By using coffee filters, food colouring, baking soda, and vinegar we were able to create beautiful art while we watched the reaction of the baking soda and vinegar as they mixed. We found this to be so interesting and exciting. We also brought our love for colour outside in a fun painting project. With the use of paint and mirrors we were able to create works of art that reflected the sky as we worked. The children were able to create never ending projects with this fun and interesting painting activity.
In the coming week we will continue to explore the possibilities and wonder of colour. What might we think of next?????
