This week in Quartz room we were continuing our focus on opposites. We compared different textures on the big texture box. Some were soft, hard, and rough. Little things like even describing the textures allow for children to explore new words and describing words! We are also enjoying the beautiful fall colours; some ways we explored fall was going on a nature walk to gather leaves, pine cones and sticks. . One of our favorite art experiences this week was marble painting. This allowed the children to explore speed and also learn about motion as they held the trays up to watch the ball move back and fourth. We watched an exciting science exploration with Alka-Seltzer, water and oil it was very interesting as we watched the bubbles move to the top of the bottle. The children are growing up so fast, it is amazing to see the language development and the children start to become more thoughtful and purposeful in there play!!!
“Children need the time and freedom to play. Play is not a luxury it is a necessity.” – Kay Redfield Jamison
