In Jasper room as they began to explore Ramps and Slopes we started to notice another interest emerge – CASTLES and an increased participation in imaginative play. After all, the most popular movie is FROZEN. This may have been the spark of where all the castle, princess, queens, and knights play started to come from – but we do not know. We feel that by starting an inquiry based project on Castles and Imaginative play that children will become more involved in their learning, formulate questions, investigate and build new understanding, meanings and knowledge.

Check out our drawings of castles outside the room. Each friend had a different perspective to it. Some friends would shout out the different shapes they would see, some would describe castles, some would ask questions about who lives in it.
