This week in Shale Room, we began to discover the words “in” and “out”. Sue used her creativity to create a peek-a-boo box with different sizes of holes in it. Then we found materials in the room to see what we could fit inside of the holes! We learned that some of the balls fit into the box but some balls were too big! Because the children seemed to enjoy putting balls and other materials in and out of the box, Jen and Lana created another experience for our sandbox! They placed a piece of cardboard with different sizes of holes on top of a new sand table and then we placed that into our sandbox! We used shovels, cups, and bowls to scoop the sand from the sandbox and dump it into the holes. This week has been full of discovering in and out, which is an early math concept!
*Because the weather has been warming up, we have been spending our mornings outdoors! Please remember to send your children with sunhats and sunscreen so that we are able to enjoy the outdoors to the fullest! Thank you in advance!
