This past week in Jasper in classroom we continued our exploration on under the sea creatures. The children drew pictures of their favorite sea animals; sharks were a pretty popular one to draw. Christina (Preschool Outreach) also came in a did an experience with the children based on the book “Happy” by Mies Van Hout. This children’s book helps children understand different emotions and feelings by illustrating it by chalk drawings of fish. The children then drew their own fish feelings with chalk as well.
We also have a new class pet in our room.; Its a sea turtle. We have yet to name him. He likes to sit on the back counter and watch the children play and learn all day. The pond on the back tables also keeps our little pet entertained because we got frogs jumping around all day in the shallow waters with shiny jewels.
Next week we will explore these sea turtles a bit more and create our own versions of them! Have a great long weekend.
