It’s March already, can you believe it? We in the Shale Room are eagerly anticipating the beginning of spring! With the range of weather conditions this week, our friends got to play in the snow and in the mud! We practiced shovelling snow, blew bubbles outside (our favourite), and went for walks through the community when the sidewalks were clear!
We went to visit our friends at the Manor again for a fun story time! Our senior friends loved reading with us, and the turnout was so great, we’ll have to bring more books next time! What a wonderful problem to have!
We brought a few pool noodles into our classroom to explore and utilize in multiple ways! We explored sound and used them as telephones by speaking through one end and holding the other up to our ears. For some of us, the effect was startling! We cut up the noodles into small discs and used them as stamps in paint, and we let noodles do what noodles do best and made little sail boats out of them as we explored objects that sink and float!
Our concept of In and Out is still going strong, and we continued this through our play in our sandbox, pouring sand in and out of containers, scooping and dumping out shaving cream in our water table, and our classic art project, BODY PAINTING! This Thursday we also had the opportunity to be scientists again as we experienced the properties of dry ice! We were excited to see the different reactions in the multiple experiments! Our favourite was definitely popping the bubbles! It was a great opportunity to practice our words!
Wow, what an eventful week! Have a great weekend and see you Monday!
