Wow! Can you believe that March is here already? We can’t! It’s been an exciting and fun week in Sandstone with our interest drifting away from story telling and moving more towards transporting materials and even our bodies. We’ve been exploring the water and sand tables non stop the past few week. We like to dump and pour our water, transporting it into different containers and jugs. We like to scoop our sand into pots, tins, and whatever else we can find then watch the sand fall as we pour it out to do it all over again. We like to gather the food into our grocery bags and purses and walk around the classroom searching for more goodies to collect. We like to transport our cars from point A to point B. Most of all, we like to transport our bodies from back and forth, up and down, and side to side. On Wednesday afternoon, we moved our table and had a big open space in the classroom. What did we do with this? We set up chairs in two lines and hopped onto the bus. Where did we go? To Disney Land of course. We gave the bus driver our ticket, found a spot to sit, and buckled up as Brooke and Cybil drove us to Disney Land. How many scoops does it take to fill up the jug? This is a question educators ask to provoke thinking. So they start scooping the water and pour it into a big jug as we count together how many scoops it takes to fill up. By doing this we are seeking for answers and testing out theories. We are exited to explore these interests further next week! See you Monday 🙂 Jessica, Brooke, Paulette
