FEE FI FO FUM…this week in Sandstone there were giants stomping around, climbing up beanstalks, and knocking over towers as we are further exploring our favourite fairy tales, “Jack and the Beanstalk”. We noticed one morning that our very own beanstalk was growing in our classroom up, up in the clouds! I wonder what surprises will be added to the classroom next week!
Our play this week has been revolving around a pond scene that Paulette painted on our window. She even added some props such as ducks, frogs, fish, and turtles that stick to the window. We sang lots of counting songs as we placed the animals on different spots in the pond. We are also learning more about the letters in our alphabet by sounding out different words. To help us further explore, Maria brought in “The Hungry Caterpillar” book by Eric Carle, and we matched up the pictures with the letters of all the delicious food the caterpillar ate. We even made a colourful caterpillar to which we matched the different coloured Pom Poms. Each day we are learning more and more about the alphabet, numbers, and colours as we are exploring sequencing and patterns.
Have a nice weekend spent with your loved ones and we will see you all on Monday!
