This week in Sandstone classroom we continued to explore the concept of building through our active play in the block corner. We have been exploring the idea of transportation though building by using the big blocks to make all types of vehicles such as fire trucks, pick up trucks, race cars, and even buses. We also noticed that we can make ramps and tunnels with the blocks for our cars to race through.
Max took Jessica for a ride in his truck this week. They went to the zoo to see some animals, then they went to a restaurant where Petra was cooking a delicious meal for them. Other Sandstone friends also wanted to take a turn driving the truck around the city. When making ramps for our cars to drive down we noticed that we had to be very careful not to bump it because it might fall down. We then had an idea to tape the blocks together so we didn’t keep having to fix it. At the bottom of the ramp we added a tunnel for the cars to zoom through. We loved watching the cars fly out of the tunnel, it made us laugh.
We have also started creating our Sandstone family tree this week. We have really enjoyed seeing pictures of our families in the classroom. Come on in to have a peek and if you haven’t had time yet to bring one in, you are welcome to send it to primrose@telus.net
Have a great weekend with your family and friends, see you on Monday. Monday is Halloween!
You are welcome to dress up as we are doing a parade for the seniors starting at 9:45am, however you don’t have to.
