This was quite a short week for us at Primrose but still a busy one. We were exploring all kinds of science experiments and risk taking skills. We got very messy with a few activities involving cornstarch, water and food colouring. Some of our Jasper friends went home looking like they were covered in flour but it was such fun! The kids were very enthusiastic to learn about cause and effect theories and why the cornstarch changes when water is added and how it also changes depending on the amount of water you add. During our outdoor play we are all still very interested in risk taking skills and tough and tumble play! We have continued to stack the tree stumps higher and higher everyday, now challenging ourselves to jump off different ways (backwards, sideways, kicks in the air, etc.). We have also had lots of discussions about how to properly wash our hands, covering our mouths when we cough and why it’s important to not spread germs. The kids have been working hard to remember and have been helping remind friends to stay healthy! We are still waiting for some families to add to our “What Do You Like to do at Home” board and are starting to incorporate some of those activities into our classroom program in the coming weeks!
