Snow!!! This past week the children have really enjoyed the first snow fall and went outside lots to play and explore. During morning meeting we discuss all the things we need to do to get ready for outside play. We practiced getting dressed using our math skill by figuring out the best order to get dressed (sequencing). We discussed what would happen if we put on jackets first then snow pants, and mitts before boots (problem solving). We discovered an order to get dressed that would help all the children get dressed on their own and with little to no frustration.

Snow pants, Jacket, Toque, Orange Shirt, Scarf, Boots, and Mitts are last.

Next week will read “Froggy Gets Dressed” by Johnathan London. This is a great book that teaches children how to get dressed for snow play in a fun way.
